Attica Group is the first Greek passenger shipping company to receive the Certificate on Inventory of Hazardous Materials from Lloyd's Register of Shipping for all its vessels, in compliance with the European Ship Recycling Regulation (EUSRR) (Regulation (EU) no. 1257/2013). At the same time Attica Group obtained on a voluntary basis the Statement of Compliance on Inventory of Hazardous Materials in accordance to the Hong Kong International Convention.

EUSRR prohibits or limits the supply and usage of hazardous materials (e.g. asbestos or ozone-depleting substances) onboard and requires vessels to maintain an Inventory of Hazardous Materials (IHM) specifying the locations of such materials and their approximate quantities. Attica Group has adopted a procedure for the control of its procurement chain and the recording of potentially hazardous materials (Inventory of Hazardous Materials) on board its vessels, in accordance to the Regulation.

The European Ship Recycling Regulation enters into force on 31st December 2020 and applies to all EU-flagged vessels as well as all foreign-flagged vessels calling or anchoring at any EU port.

Attica Group is active in passenger shipping through SUPERFAST FERRIES, BLUE STAR FERRIES, HELLENIC SEAWAYS and AFRICA MOROCCO LINK, operating 32 vessels in total, which provide modern and high quality transportation services in Greece and abroad. The Group’s vessels travel in 4 countries and 60 unique destinations, connect 71 ports and transport over 7 million passengers, 1 million private vehicles and 400,000 freight units annually.
