New freight line between Genoa and Porto Torres operating from next 13th October

The Grimaldi Group boosts its freight services between Northern Italy and Sardinia with the introduction of a new line that will link Genoa to Porto Torres.

The vessel deployed on the route will be the ro/pax Euroferry Malta, with a loading capacity of 130 trucks/trailers and the possibility of hosting 50 drivers onboard. The connection will be operated from next 13th October on a thrice-weekly basis from both ports.
Departures are scheduled every other day from Genoa (Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday) and from Porto Torres (Monday, Wednesday and Friday) at 19:30 hours; the vessel will arrive at the port of destination the following day at 09:30 hours.

“Following the request of our loyal customers and in order to complete a logistics and territorial continuity network with Sardinia, we deemed essential to start this line which adds to the more than 120 Motorways of the Seas offered by our Group in the Mediterranean", says Guido Grimaldi, Corporate Short Sea Shipping Commercial Director, Grimaldi Group.

With this enhancement, the Grimaldi Group confirms its firm will to keep investing in the Sardinian market. Indeed, the Neapolitan group currently offers an extensive network of connections to and from Sardinia which includes, beside the historical Civitavecchia-Porto Torres and Porto TorresBarcelona connections, other regular mixed freight and passenger lines (Livorno-Olbia and Civitavecchia-Olbia), and numerous regular lines for the exclusive transport of rolling freight connecting the port of Cagliari with Genoa, Salerno, Livorno and Valencia.
