Ports of Auckland in New Zealand is exploring the feasibility of powering cruise ships from the national electricity grid, or LNG- or methanol-powered barges, when they are berthed in port.

Shipping Confidence at 15 Month High
Accounting Network Moore Stephens has released a report stating that said the average shipping confidence level rose from 5.4 in August 2016 to 5.6 out of 10.0 in November 2016. This is the highest rating since August 2015.

The European Parliament adopted today a report on the Regulation establishing a framework for the organisation of port services and financial transparency of ports presented by the rapporteur MEP Knut Fleckenstein.

Ceremony to mark start of Attenborough polar ship construction
Construction of the UK's new £200m polar research ship, the RRS Sir David Attenborough, formally begins on Monday at Cammell Laird on Merseyside.
