Chefs' Competition: Culinary Excellence in the spotlight

Marking 10 years of yachting excellence, the Mediterranean Yacht Show returns to Nafplion from April 27th to May 1st for its 9th edition, promising another amazing five-day event for its dedicated worldwide audience.

This year, the show will be illuminated by 5 MICHELIN stars in the highly anticipated Chefs' Competition, as we are honoured and proud to welcome 2 esteemed chefs to the judging committee. Chef Antonio Mellino, of Quattro Passi Restaurant in Nerano, Italy, boasting 3 MICHELIN stars, and Chef George Papazacharias, of Delta Restaurant in Athens, Greece, holding 2 MICHELIN stars, are welcomed once again to the judging panel, joining culinary maestros in a competitive clash to win the coveted top prize of the show.


Antonio Mellino

Chef Mellino's culinary journey spans over three decades, showcasing a remarkable trajectory from his roots in Argentina to the culinary zenith of Quattro Passi in Nerano, Italy.

His path is characterised by innovation, unwavering dedication, and a relentless pursuit of perfection. Throughout his illustrious career, Chef Mellino has garnered acclaim for his extraordinary culinary creations.

As Chef Patron of Quattro Passi, he has elevated the restaurant to a pinnacle of gastronomic distinction, earning an impressive 3 MICHELIN stars. With each dish, Chef Mellino skillfully blends flavours from his South American heritage with the rich Mediterranean gastronomic tradition, creating an unforgettable dining experience.

As Chef Mellino returns to the judging panel of MEDYS 2024, we are immensely proud to welcome a personality whose talent, passion, and commitment to mastery shine brightly at the forefront of the culinary world.


George Papazacharias

At Delta Restaurant, his culinary sanctuary, Chef Papazacharias curates dishes that redefine the Greek dining experience. With an unyielding dedication to sustainability and a passionate drive for innovation, he transcends mere cooking to craft culinary masterpieces and unforgettable moments.

Chef Papazacharias, with international experiences at renowned establishments worldwide, including the prestigious "Maaemo" in Oslo with 3 MICHELIN stars and the groundbreaking "Under," Europe's first and the world's largest underwater restaurant submerged 5 meters beneath the sea, where his menu played a pivotal role in acquiring 1 MICHELIN star, spearheads a culinary revolution.

Advocating for zero waste, championing local ingredients, and fostering partnerships with small-scale producers his visionary approach earned Delta Restaurant the distinction of being the sole restaurant in Greece with 2 MICHELIN stars. Additionally, his pioneering commitment to sustainability has garnered a prestigious Michelin Green Star.
